Bandai Namco has announced a sales update for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, confirming over eight million units sold. The last major milestone was in December 2021 at 4.5 million sales. A new tweet from the official Dragon Ball Games sports bettingTwitter thanked fans but added, “We hope you look forward to what’s coming next!”
Developed by CyberConnect2, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the latest adaptation of the late Akira Toriyama’s iconic anime/manga. It follows Son Goku in his adult years, venturing through the Saiyan, Namek, Cell and Buu Sagas. Post-launch DLC covered other story arcs, from the Battle of Gods movie, which introduced Super Saiyan God form, to Goku’s Next Journey, which concluded the Dragon Ball Z storyline.
Neither Bandai Namco nor CyberConnect2 have confirmed what’s next. However, the former will host a Summer Showcase panel during Anime Expo on July 5th, which is “heavy with announcements, reveals, and first looks at anticipated anime games.” It could announce the next Season Pass, potentially including the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Check out our review.
