Chelsea celebrated their fourth successive Women’s Super League title after beating Reading 3-0 at Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Having seen off Manchester United in the FA Cup final earlier this month, Chelsea wrapped up the double in style as they breezed past relegated Reading courtesy of Guro Reiten and a Sam Kerr double.

The Blues’ recent dominance shone through as their hosts failed to deal with the attacking talent of Emma Hayes’ side, who finished the 2022-23 season victorious and on a seven-game league winning run.

Former Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri believes his old club can win the quadruple this season, as the EFL Cup winners prepare to host Inter in the Champions League.

The 30-year-old, who is now plying his trade in Major League Soccer after joining Chicago Fire in February, won the Champions League, Premier League, and FIFA Club World cup titles in a three-year spell at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp s side defeated Chelsea to win the EFL Cup last month, and are preparing for a Champions League second-leg clash with the Italian champions, boasting a 2-0 lead from the first leg at San Siro.

Martin Odegaard is having a great season at Real Sociedad. The Norwegian starlet has been on loan at the Basque club from Real Madrid and it looks like he is finally finding his feet at one of the best leagues in the world. ODegaard, who famously joined Real Madrid when he was 16 in 2015, has two goals and two assists in La Liga in seven appearances this season.

His last one came on Sunday night in a 3-2 loss away at Sevilla, and with such fine performances, it is no wonder many clubs are following him. One of them could be Wolverhampton Wanderers. According to the Mirror, they have sent scouts to Spain to watch the player, but they are not saying what would be Wolves plans.

Jack Grealish has questioned what Graeme Souness   problem is after the former Liverpool captain criticised his performances for Manchester City.

England international Grealish joined City in a £100million British-record transfer in 2021 but has struggled to hit the heights he did at Aston Villa.

After six goals and 10 assists in 26 Premier League games for Villa in 2020-21, Grealish contributed only three goals and three assists in the same number of appearances in his debut City campaign.

He has started the 2022-23 season slowly, too, although the England winger scored his first goal in Saturday s 3-0 win at Wolves.

Former Manchester United talent Ravel Morrison has secured a return to English football by signing a one-year deal with Premier League newcomers Sheffield United.

Morrison, 26, came through the Red Devils  academy and was tipped for big things, with Rio Ferdinand once claiming Sir Alex Ferguson rated him as the best 14-year-old he had ever seen.

But the midfielder had a string of disciplinary problems, finding himself in trouble with police more than once, and he has struggled to live up to his early promise.

But following a trial period with the Blades, Morrison has earned a one-year deal with the possibility of an extension.

Manager Chris Wilder said: Ravel is an undoubted talent and we are delighted we have put together a deal that suits all parties.…

World Cup winner Benedikt Howedes has agreed a four-year contract with Russian champions Lokomotiv Moscow, ending his long association with Schalke.

The Germany international started all of his country s matches as Joachim Low s men triumphed in Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

But the 30-year-old has been dogged by a series of injuries in recent years and was only able to make three Serie A appearances while on loan at Juventus for the 2017-18 season.

However, Lokomotiv said stringent medical tests conducted in Italy did not reveal any issues that would prevent Howedes from joining the club.

France coach Didier Deschamps has named his squad for Les Bleus Nations League games in June, with Boubacar Kamara called up for the first time.

The Nations League holders face Denmark, Austria and Croatia next month, playing their 2018 World Cup final opponents both home and away.

Marseille midfielder Kamara has enjoyed a fine season, and the 22-year-old – who is set to leave the Ligue 1 club as a free agent, with Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Barcelona linked – has been rewarded with a maiden senior international call.

Kamara is part of a 24-man squad and may well have benefited from Paul Pogba s injury absence.

Brendan Rodgers has categorically ruled out selling any of his Leicester City players in the upcoming transfer window.

Leicester are soaring in second place, six points ahead of Manchester City – whose title defence looks in tatters – though eight behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Foxes, champions under Claudio Ranieri in 2015-16, face both City and Liverpool in the space of two games across the festive period.

Left-back Ben Chilwell has been linked with a January move to Chelsea, who will be able to sign players next month after their transfer ban was lifted, while centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is reportedly a target for City.

However, Rodgers has moved to quash any rumours, insisting Leicester have no intention to sell in January.
