Watford appoint Flores half an hour after announcing Gracia departure

Gennaro Gattuso has agreed a new contract with Serie A side Napoli, according to director Cristiano Giuntoli.

Gattuso, 42, is currently contracted to Napoli until the end of the season after replacing Carlo Ancelotti in December last year.

Since taking charge, former Milan boss Gattuso has guided Napoli to Coppa Italia glory in 2019-20 – the club s first piece of silverware since 2014.

Giuntoli was asked about Gattuso s future prior to Thursday s 1-1 Europa League draw at AZ.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos called for unity as reports indicated head coach Julen Lopetegui could be sacked after another LaLiga loss.

Madrid went down 2-1 at home to Levante on Saturday and have now lost four of their last five matches in all competitions under Lopetegui.

Karim Benzema has hinted this could be his best season in a Real Madrid shirt, following his side s knockout win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The talismanic Benzema scored a hat-trick in Madrid s epic comeback from a two-goal aggregate deficit, which meant he surpassed Alfredo di Stefano as the club s third-highest goalscorer with his total of 309, including 67 Champions League goals – now ahead of Raul.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard expects incredible Gareth Bale to give Tottenham a major boost if he secures a return to the Premier League club.

Bale left Spurs for Real Madrid in 2013 for a then-world record fee of €100milion (£85m) and he went on to enjoy huge success in Spain.

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has travelled to Milan as rumours run wild that he could be in line to take over as Inter Milan’s new manger. Luciano Spalletti, the current boss, is rumoured to be on his way out, and a move for Mourinho would mark his return to the San Siro after he spent two years there with Inter between 2008 and 2010.

Mourinho is reportedly set to hold talks with the club’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta, as he prepares to thrust himself back into the weird and wonderful world of European football.
